Every once in a blue moon I’ll have a file that XLD can not handle - has to do with XLD being to persnickety. Max to the rescue.
I suspect I know the answer but gotta ask.
I would love to update Max. Unfortunately the app’s architecture is outdated and it would require a complete rewrite vs. an update, which is a massive time commitment. However, SFBAudioEngine supports encoding/decoding/transcoding and my intent at some point was to rewrite Max using that for the file conversion side of the app. I never figured out if the CD extraction was worth updating as well.
I so very much appreciate the response/info, Stephen (Steven?). Just a few days ago I had some files XLD nor Pro Audio Converter could handle but Max was great. Not for the first time does Max do something the others don’t. (I normally go to Max but anticipating its demise I thought to give PAC a whirl.) Feeling nostalgic; thanks for the memories
