Improved Search Results Display

Each section of the search results (tracks, albums, and artists) now displays all of the matching items as a horizontally-scrollable list within the overall results.

Multiple Selection in Albums and Artists

It is now possible to select multiple albums or artists. This makes it easier to create playlists, edit metadata, or just browse the library.

The album and artist detail displays are refined with a more prominent banner above the tracks for each album in addition to selection information on the bottom.

Performance Improvements

There are numerous other changes that should improve the performance for large libraries.

Playing From

A new Playing From command (⇧⌘L) in the View menu shows the current source of tracks. Previously it wasn’t possible to determine whether the now playing track originated from a playlist, smart playlist, album, or artist.

Toolbar Improvements

The toolbar’s appearance has been improved to more clearly present information on the now playing track and the player’s state. Also, new items let you easily view and change the shuffle and repeat modes.

Playlist Renaming

Playlists can now be easily renamed.
