Decibel 2.0 beta

Decibel

Decibel version 2 is the next-generation high-quality audio player.

Features

Library Management

Decibel supports full-fledged music library management:

  • View your collection grouped by album or artist or as a customizable list of tracks
  • Create and manage playlists and smart playlists
  • Fast searching and filtering
  • Full metadata editing
  • Replay gain analysis
  • Note: Automatic file renaming and organization is not supported

The speed and flexibility of Decibel’s library is made possible by FeistyDB.

Audio Playback

Audio playback is built on an improved SFBAudioEngine.

Supported Formats

Decibel supports playback of all popular audio formats including FLAC, Vorbis, Musepack, WavPack, Monkey’s Audio, Speex, Opus, True Audio, Apple Lossless, Shorten, AAC, MP3, Module (Mod) files, DSF, DSDIFF, WAVE, and AIFF.

Playback Features

Decibel supports gapless playback and replay gain adjustment for most audio formats.

Decibel can optionally set the output device’s sample rate to that of the playing track to prevent audio quality degradation associated with software sample rate conversion (SRC). When software SRC is unavoidable Decibel allows the computational complexity of the SRC algorithm to be adjusted.

Direct Stream Digital (DSD)

On supported Digital-to-Analog Converters (DACs), Decibel supports DSD over PCM (DoP). For DSD64 (DSD sampled at 2.8224 MHz) Decibel supports DSD to PCM conversion.

Multiple Device Support

Decibel allows simultaneous playback of different audio tracks to different audio devices.
