Streaming and exclusive DAC access

@sbooth , thank you very much for all your hard work on the app. I purchased Decibel something like 10y ago and it has served me well.

I have two questions, which are probably stupid.

  1. How feasible would it be to stream from services such as Apple music HD, Qobuz, etc through Decibel? I know players like Audirvana can do this for select partners, but the main thing I am looking for is finer control over the DAC and even the EQ. Is it possible to use Apple Music, for instance, and stream it through Decibel, sort of like a hardware abstraction layer?
  2. I have been using the version of Decibel that I bought, but recently downloaded the v2 beta you have here. Am I right in thinking v2 does not have the “exclusive access” feature for the DAC?
