Unable to play any audio in beta 34

When i try to play any file with Decibel (am using Version 2.0 beta 34)
I’m running macOS Sequoia: 15.3

I get an error “Missing URL bookmark data”.
I’ve deleted the ~/Library/Application Support/com.feisty-dog.Decibel directory and re-created the library and still get the error.

I know the files can be played back as IINA plays them fine.

I’ve attached a screenshot of what’s going on here.

anyone got any ideas?

That is a strange error to encounter. In System SettingsPrivacy & SecurityFiles & Folders are there any entries for Decibel? It seems like this could be a file permission problem.

It’s not listed in either Files & Folders or Full Disk Access (I can’t seem to manually add to Files & Folders)

Giving it full disk access manually and restarting the app hasn’t fixed the issue.

Aha! I don’t know why I didn’t try this: it’s because the music I’m playing back is mounted from a read-only network volume. If i try to play back from something local, it works.

(Why does it need write permissions to the files? )
